George Bush

August 23, 2008

Being English, this shouldn’t really be of any of my concern. For the past year or so, the USA has been awaiting the time that George Bush would leave office. In November, a new president will take over, either Barrack Obama or John McCain. This will be a fantastic moment for the world as a whole, as the actions of Republican George Bush, have been most erratic and dangerous.

In recent weeks, there has been a battle between Georgia and Russia over the break-away region of South Ossetia, located in Georgia. Russian troops opened fire on Georgian citizens, killing hundreds.

Horror in Georgia

There was an outcry from the rest of the world at Russia’s horrid behavior. After much debate, a ceasefire was announced, in which the US government were very involved in. This dented a former strong relationship between the two global powers and prompted words to be exchanged. As the situation worsened, Russia’s neighbouring country, Poland, allowed the US to place a missile  defence system on Polish soil. This outraged the Russians, effectively ending all positive ties between the Russians and the Americans. A clever move by President Bush? Most certainly not! The Russians, known for there dangerous temper and aggressive behaviour, threatened to invade Poland, with nuclear weapons.

This is perhaps, one of the disgraced presidents worst decisions, following a line of the US government sticking there noses, where there is no need to. My sincere hope is that Russia’s threat was an empty one, for Nuclear invasions, cannot be a good thing. If the invasion goes ahead, then I fear a third World War could be on the cards, all because of George Bush, deciding he would needlessly get involved, again.

Please Mr. Bush, for the sake of the world, keep quiet and don’t make any contact with Russia. Thank you, concerned Brit.
